Story
Me and Anna are both running the half marathon on behalf of Loros. The 13.2 mile course is going to be tough, however we have both been training together and know we have the motivation and drive to do this and raise some all important money for this amazing charity.

''I am running the Leicester half marathon on Sunday 13th Oct. Eek!
I have decided to raise money for Loros as it will give me the motivation to get round the course every step of the way. Not only has Loros been a lifeline for personal friends of mine, it has made a massive difference to many, many people throughout Leicestershire.
So I’m looking forward to getting out on that 13.2 mile course and raising some money for this amazing charity''

''I am running for Loros as their aim is to enhance the quality of life of adult patients with cancer, progressive neurological conditions and end-stage organ failure for whom curative treatment is no longer possible. Patients are treated at the Hospice and in the community. They are an amazing charity and do so much for so many families.
If you want to read more about why I am running for Loros please continue reading below, thank you all so much!! ''
Unfortunately cancer tore through our family back in 2019 when my partner Steve was diagnosed with Stage 3 Bowel cancer. This was a complete shock to us as he is so young, fit, and looks after himself.
He began his treatment in August 2019 when our son William was only 9 months old. He started radiotherapy and chemotherapy and took the treatment really well. Unfortunately in January 2022 the tumour was still in the bowel and had spread to the bowel wall, so Steve made the difficult decision to have this surgically removed, which meant he had to have his rectum removed completely and now has a stoma bag. Again he was so strong and recovered really well from this massive surgery.
We also found out we were expecting our second child together which was an amazing surprise as we were told by oncologists that we wouldn't be able to have anymore children due to he radiotherapy he had received.
However in June 2022 the cancer had come back, this time in Steve's liver. We were all devastated but knew he could put up a good fight and was strong enough, so he went under surgery again, to have a liver resection. This is where they remove part of the liver which was diseased. This was a huge operation for Steve and his recovery was amazing yet again. We were all so, so proud of him.
We had our beautiful miracle baby in August 2022 this filled our lives with so much positivity and light after all the darkness we had endured.
However yet again in October 2022 we were told the cancer was back in the liver, this time with numerous smaller tumours which unfortunately now were inoperable.
Steve now has stage 4 cancer which has also spread to his bones and is now under the palliative care team. Me and Anna both hope to raise as much money as we can and thank you so, so much for your support.
