Story

This year, I'm supporting life-changing cancer research here at Manchester. On 18 May 2025, I’ll be taking part in the Purplewave – a 10k challenge to aid Manchester's already world leading cancer research.

I ran a 5k in the summer just gone, but want to try a bit harder with this 10k. I lost my mam, Angela, to cancer in August 2023 and I wanted to take this opportunity to give as much back to the causes that supported my mam, and our family firsthand, through some of the toughest times. By running this 10k I hope to embody the strength my mam showed throughout her fight and her life as a whole.

A lot of you guys reading this will be students and, magically, on a tight budget, so there is no pressure to donate. Even £1 goes a long way but encouragement and messages is really motivating.

You taking the time to read this really means a lot, thank you :)
