Story

With 19 other supporters of Growing Well, I will be walking from our site at Tebay in east Cumbria to Sizergh, south of Kendal, on 15th June, to mark the 20th anniversary of the charity.

I have been chairing the charity's trustees for two years. It provides a targeted and specialist mental health intervention through its three sites in Cumbria: Egremont, Tebay and Kendal. Each site welcomes around 120 people a year with a 12 month programme which supports their mental health recovery through horticultural training. You can see more information here: https://www.growingwell.co.uk/

Whilst this might not be a trans-Saharan endurance run, the cause is incredibly important and effective, serving deprived and isolated communities where it is often the only support of its kind available.

All contributions extremely welcome.
