Story
As many of you know, Teresa and I have supported Snowdrop, and other Charities involved in fighting Human Trafficking, for a number of years. Teresa and I were volunteer drivers with the Salvation Army Human Trafficking Team until a couple of years when we started the adoption journey; transporting some very vulnerable victims of trafficking to safe houses up and down the country.
Alongside that, I've ran numerous half-marathons and biked across the country for charities, many of which have been for Snowdrop. I've had this mad idea of running 4 marathons in 4 weeks to celebrate my 40th birthday (April 30th 2024) to raise £40k for Snowdrop for a while. With our youngest joining our family at the beginning of 2023 I realised I wouldn't have the time to undertake the training needed for 4 marathons; but have decided to keep up with the spirit of the training, and will be running the following 4 half-marathons:
Sunday 7th April: Sheffield Half Marathon
Sunday 14th April: Rugeley Half Marathon
Sunday 21st April: Roche Abbey Half Marathon
Sunday 28th April: East Yorkshire (Hull) Half Marathon
To add to the challenge, I'll be carrying the Olympic Torch from 2012 round the 4 routes as well...
Thank you to those of you who are running one (or more) of the half marathons; you're all legends. And to everyone who has or will donate; thank you. Your donations will really make a difference to victims of trafficking here in South Yorkshire and further afield.
