Reach 2024: Gaza Emergency Relief
Fundraising for Human Appeal
Fundraising for Human Appeal
I am raising money for Human Appeal’s Emergency Gaza Aid fund. As a revert to Islam, I have learnt about my responsibility to stand up for the oppressed and to give from what I love to those who need it most. I have seen the resilience and faith of the Palestinians and it has been eye opening.
After seeing the plight of Palestinians in the most documented genocide in history, like many people, I have felt compelled to do something. I have decided to take part in the reach programme with Human Appeal to distribute aid directly, myself, in refugee camps.
With three young children of my own, I have been deeply disturbed by the images we are seeing of people, and especially children, suffering at the hands of the occupation. With Gaza becoming a testing ground for weapons and the use of internationally prohibited weapons used on children just like my own, I am unable to sit by and do nothing. We have seen children eating grass, drinking polluted water and dying; not only from the missiles, but of a forced famine. Now more than ever, after numerous countries cease their funding to the UNRWA-the lifeline of food aid in Gaza- we must act.
In order to be able to do this humanitarian work I need to raise £5,500 for Human Appeal’s Emergency Gaza Fund to facilitate deployment and distribution of aid.
