Story

I am raising much needed funds to support Mind in Salford and the vital work they do in the Salford community. Mind in Salford provide essential mental health services to those who need support within this area.

1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem of some kind this year in England. In Salford this amounts to 67,500.

So why the link to Salford when I live in Staffordshire. Well? Three very personal reasons:

1. My very good friend fought a huge battle with mental health and whom now has close links to Salford working tirelessly for this cause.

2. Some time ago I too found myself in a very dark place and without the support of family, friends and key professionals I may not have been here today to enjoy my extraordinary life.

3. Throughout my years I have listened to my son, his friends and many other friends, all of whom know young people who desperately need the help of mental health services but find themselves trapped without the appropriate professional support to help them through this: the NHS cannot support their battle and there is a huge reliance on charity work such as this.

Problems with mental health feel a long long road, with young people not knowing which way to turn, so whether it's Stoke or Salford, I want to start somewhere...and give a young person the chance to find light in their current state of darkness. So Salford it is fr 2024 and let the training begin!

Raising between £25.00 - £500 would provide funds that can enable Mind in Salford provide Information and Advice to a young person struggling with their mental health and give them the opportunity to survive and thrive.

Thank you and good mental health to you all.
