Story
I've decided to shave my head! At the same time, I'd really love to do what I can to support a worthy cause, and there is no cause worthier than saving people's lives.
I only began working at The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) last year and until I started here I assumed that the service was government funded. It was a shock to realise that they are entirely reliant upon public donations. This service which saves people's lives and covers over 8,000 sq meters of land, can only exist on the generosity of the public.
So help me, help them keep flying.
GNAAS rescues hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year throughout the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria. The charity responded to 1,732 call-outs last year alone, via their helicopter and emergency response vehicles, where they performed treatments and procedures which can mean the difference between life and death.
It costs £7.7m each year to keep the service running, so every little helps.
Please give what you can and support this amazing charity, you may need them one day.
