We provide vital practical and financial to support our Armed Forces community.

Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page.

Please join me in raising vital funds to support serving men and women, veterans and families who will call on SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity for help in time of need.

Since 1885, thanks to the public's support, SSAFA continues to provide welfare and wellbeing assistance tailored to our Armed Forces community. They know and understand the unique demands of service life, whether in the UK or overseas, and in times of need, they help to enable the Forces family to thrive.

Starting in Whitehaven, we will be cycling through The Lake District on a 50 mile journey through it to eventually arrive at Penrith. Then, we will be heading to either Eastgate or Stanhope through the North Pennies on an estimated 44 mile journey. Eventually on the penultimate day, we will be traveling to Tynemouth through Newcastle upon Tyne on a 40 mile trek to end the event.

Me and my Step Dad, Michael aka Mick, first started doing charity bike rides in 2020 and we challenged ourselves to a 20 mile round trip to Maltby where I placed a cross on a war hero's grave and the local cenotaph. We raised over our initial goal of £500 and these funds were given to the Royal British Legion. The consecutive year, we decided to take up the challenge of doing an approximate 40 mile round bike ride to Eastoft, doubling the mileage and the goal which was £1000 and as what we did in Maltby, I placed a cross on a war hero's grave and the local cenotaph. We just managed to reach this goal, with the addition of gift aid and the countless generous donors which took the time out of their day and money out of their pockets to give money to a good cause.

This year, with the tragic cost of living crisis where people are having to make the tough decision whether they should heat their home, in the winter, or put food on the table and the extremely high rates of inflation, we understand if some people can't donate. But if you spread the word of this event that will be highly appreciated as it gets the word out to other people who may be able to donate. l would like to thank Michael as without him, this event wouldn't be possible as he funded, and initially found out about the move to remember event which started our series of charity bike rides. We would also like to say a huge thank you from me, Jayden, and Michael for taking the time out of your day to read this and maybe even donate and possibly spread the word about this event and we wish you all the best.
