Story
Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre is committed to ensuring no woman or girl subjected to sexual violence has to cope alone.
Right now, they are supporting hundreds of survivors of sexual violence whose support needs have hugely intensified due to the additional strains brought about as a result of the pandemic, cost-of-living crisis and collapse of the Criminal Justice System.
Below is a summary of some of the many reasons I decided to run for CRCC at the Cambridge Half Marathon this year. It’s a little heavy, so if you want to skip, please do. And thank you for your support!

About seven years ago, an older man sexually assaulted me at work. I didn’t think of it as assault—let alone tell anyone about it—until recently. I think now that it informed how I thought of myself for years afterwards. I wish I’d talked earlier.
Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre supports over a thousand women and girls every year in Cambridgeshire with services that are confidential, non-directional, inclusive, feminist, and non-judgemental. I believe in their work as a person and as a (formerly male) survivor of sexual assault and I hope you'll help me raise money for them.
Please join me in giving what you can. Thank you ❤️
