We provide fun-filled activity holidays to change the lives of disabled children

Story

On April the 27th 2025, I will be running the London Marathon to raise funds for the Newman Holiday Trust who provide respite holidays for children with disabilities aged 4-18 each year, in various locations around the United Kingdom. You can learn more about their inspiring mission here:

I have had the privilege of volunteering with the Newman Holiday Trust on several occasions over the years. It is certainly a challenging experience, but witnessing firsthand the joy and confidence these holidays bring to the children has been profoundly inspiring and worthwhile. The laughter, the excitement, and the pure happiness that light up their faces are what motivate me to support this cause.

Why should you donate? Because your contribution can make a world of difference. It costs around £10-15k to run each holiday and around £110k to run all 7 holidays each year, equivalent to £800 per child (In 2023 we had 136 children). Every pound raised helps the Newman Holiday Trust provide these special holidays, ensuring that each child receives the care, support, and fun they deserve. Your generosity will help cover the costs of accommodation, activities, medical care, and transportation, making these holidays accessible to families who might not otherwise afford them.

Thank you for your support!

Jay :)

About the charity

Established in 1981, the Newman Holiday Trust began by running a one week summer holiday for children with special needs. The Trust now provides holidays for about 130 children with special needs aged four to sixteen each year, in various locations around the UK. Due to the high level of skilled care they require or financial circumstances, the children selected for these breaks would not otherwise receive a holiday. The holidays provide a range of fun activities in a safe and supportive environment and use a care ration of one helper to one child at all times. The Trust is an entirely voluntary organization and owes its success to over 200 people who dedicate their free time to helping these children. This voluntary structure ensures that every penny raised goes directly towards a child's holiday.
