Jax is 21 years old and has Autism Spectrum disorder. The Autism Spectrum is broad and can have varying degrees of care needed from birth through their entire lives. According to Autism Speaks, in the next decade, approximately 1,000,000 young adults with Autism will age out of school based Individual Education Plan services, and this number includes our Jax Man. We as a family have finally found an amazing place for Jax to be safe, happy, and healthy, in an environment where he can grow and learn to be more independent while fostering lasting relationships with his peers. This place is Matthias Academy, and we envision Matthias being Jax's home for the future. Matthias Academy is an adult day program in Benet Lake, Wisconsin. Matthias Academy serves adults with moderate to severe disabilities, intellectual disabilities, medical needs, behavioral needs and varying degrees of autism. Matthias Academy offers opportunities, classes and experiences while bringing the surrounding community into our facility.
