Jason's fundraiser for MS-UK

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
My name is Jason Weber and I am co- founder and President of Silver Grove Financial Group, Inc. Off the heels of my first half marathon back in May 2016, I approached a very reluctant (and portly) Jack McCauley and asked him if he wanted to join me in running the Chicago marathon. I thought that this would be a nice milestone and a good way to get a goal set while improving my health. During our training and exercising program was when I first heard about the Abbot 6-star series. Upon learning that there had only ever been one other 6-star finisher in Western New York, and none of them were male, I knew I was going be the first. In just 18 months I ran every leg of the Abbot series including two different instances of more than one race in a seven-day span. In 2019 I became the first male in Western New York to wear the medal and brought my total number of races to 11.
I can attest to the life changing experiences that are made possible through pursuing this dream. From raising tens of thousands of dollars for children, cancer survivors and veterans, to traveling the world and experiencing the most exciting races and cultures each leg had to offer. I’ve since become almost evangelical in attempting to get as many people as I can to experience the overwhelming sensation that comes with completing a race.
In March of 2024 I traveled to Tokyo, Japan with Jack so he could complete his fifth star and before he left for the corral thrill of it all came flooding back to me. When Jack told me he was going to try to finish his 6th star in 2025 and asked me to join him. I jumped at the opportunity to cross the finish line with him in his final race as he did with me in Boston
Through the excited discussions I was having with my staff and my business partner Ryan we figured that this would be a great opportunity to invite everyone to participate as a team. I know from firsthand experience that this would not only improve the lives of the people in our office but give them a chance to affect real change in people’s lives as we raised funds for a charity.
Anne-Marie shared that working with a charity that focuses on the lives of those with affected MS was near to her heart, and after meeting and speaking with the team over at MS-UK. We knew we had found the place to concentrate our efforts.
So please join us in helping #Teampurple raise awareness, funds and the spirits of those afflicted with MS by donating to me or anyone else on our team. I appreciate all your support and we will see you at the finish line.
