Story
Dreams Come True are a national charity whose mission is to enrich the lives of children with serious and life-limiting conditions living in the highest areas of deprivation in the country, by fulfilling their dreams.
Whether its a UK family getaway for a young cancer patient, a specially adapted trike for a child with cerebral palsy, or a room makeover for a seriously ill child, each dream brings moments of magic and has a lasting impact for years to come.
That is why your support means so much! By donating to my page and helping me to achieve my fundraising goal you will be helping to make more dreams come true for children who have it tough.
Why I am doing this? It's a great charity to be supporting and a personal challenge for me! I started running at the age of 4 for the Swindon Athletic running club and enjoyed running up until my mid 20s. Have continued running on and off for the last 20 years but havent ran for the last year or so due to injury. I turn the big 50 next year, need to get fit so my wife doesnt trade me in for a younger model and have always had the London Marathon on my bucket list of things to do so thought nows a good time as any!
I would also I like follow in my fathers (David Mulcock) foot steps as he ran the first ever marathon in 1981 and also run in the memory of my late Grandfather Arthur Townsend (who founded Swindon Athletic Club) and my uncles (John and Bob) who were keen runners and well known within the Swindon running community. Uncle John sadly passed away last year and Uncle Bob has advanced dementia so unable to cheer me on in person.
I would appreciate if anyone can donate anything big or small I would be very grateful 🙏
