Story
Greetings to you !!
I would like to invite you all to join myself and my team (Team Punta del Este) as we undertake the adventure of our lives in sailing around the world, which kicked off in the south of England (UK) on Sep 3, 2023.
Not only will this be the toughest challenge we have undertaken in our lives, it will also be a competitive race that is split into 8 (eight) legs to circumnavigate the planet on a 70’ (foot) racing sailboat spanning over 40,000 nautical miles.
This event is called the Clipper Round the World Race. We will face a huge variety of challenges, from massive swells while crossing the North Pacific Ocean in the dead of winter, to crossing the equator in the [literal] doldrums in blistering heat.
I personally will undertake what might be considered the 2 (two) toughest legs, Legs 5 and 6, where it’s hard to imagine the feelings / emotions when approaching (or being chased by!!) up to 40 meter / 130 foot waves!!
We would be eternally grateful to have you support the cause and my team to become the fastest and top fundraising team globally. We would be thrilled to have you tune in and support our team as we sail through a variety of challenging weather conditions to reach each stopover port safely and quickly, all going well, weather permitting, without guarantee (😉 ). We will need your positive energy with us every step of the way!!
We would be honored to have you support [my team] Team Punta del Este for a great cause by making your kind donations at the Just Giving Page below, and by purchasing our very cool (if I may say so myself 😊 ) T-shirts at the link below.

This is total of over 7 months at sea spread over 11 months with stopovers!!!
Will we be scared? Absolutely beyond terrified in some instances I can only imagine!! Physical/mental/emotional/kinetic balance is key!
Will we work hard? Harder than ever on our hands and knees and every angle imaginable hosting sails and weathering storms!
Will we be in danger? Pretty much everything on these boats is meant to hurt you, but if you take care of her, she’ll take care of you.
Will we be in awe? Every emotion imaginable will cross through our minds, our bodies, to every nerve ending over and over again!
Will we learn to respect Mother Nature? There will be no choice but to bow down to her powerful majesty in wonder and amazement.
Will we have fun? Despite the hardships we will face at sea, there will be moments to laugh harder than ever to get through the tough spots.
Will we make new friends? This is surely an experience that will create lifelong bonds to share with others to keep inspiring others to go for it!

In closing, this will be the adventure of our lives. But why now Jason as you near the half century mark? Because the time is finally right. Everyone that knows me knows that I do not do things halfway, and this will be no exception. To think I had not sailed a single day prior to the training weeks (sessions) in my entire life is pretty wild, but I am committed to my team and the cause. I am the best team player you will ever meet, and I’ll have my team’s back every step of the way.
Thank you for following us online, for supporting our team (at the links above) and the main event to spread joy and inspiration around the world to others through true grit, resilience, courage, and relentless determination.
Oh! And please come join me at the finish line in Seattle at the end of April 2024 to celebrate in true style. My skipper is already trying to talk me into adding another leg, Leg 7 crossing the Panama Canal, but for now it’s one day at a time 😊
THANK YOU ALL!!!! THE LONG JOURNEY HAS BEGUN!!
