Story
I have decided to take part in 'IRONMAN Wales' in September 24, to raise money for the Royal Engineer Association. A fantastic charity that supports families of past and present members of the Royal Engineers.
Ironman Wales is one of the toughest Ironman triathlons, and the only full distance 'Ironman' event in the UK.
'IRONMAN Wales' takes part in the seaside town of Tenby. It is comprised of a 2.4 mile (3.8km) sea swim, followed by a 112 mile (180km) bike ride over a very hilly course, and finishing with a 26.2 mile (42km) full marathon once again on a hilly course.
Anyone that knows me will know that while i enjoy cycling, i despise running! The idea of running a full marathon after cycling 112 miles is very daunting.
As for the swim, this is my weakest point, and something i haven't done in years; but, I've started swimming 3 times a week and slowly improving.
The build up and training over the next few months will be brutal. But with support from both my family and work, i hope to cross the line with a strong finish in September.
Please help me make all this more worthwhile by raising some funds for a fantastic charity, where i know the money will genuinely go to helping families in need.
