Story
On 11 October 2012 Nick and I set off to trek to Everest base camp. We travelled to Heathrow to stay in a hotel the night before our flight at 10 am the next day. While in the hotel, Nick complained of pains running down his arms. I googled the symptoms and two words jumped out - heart attack. I dialled 999 and within a short time the medics arrived. By amazing luck we were around 25 minutes away from Harefield hospital, Nick had a stent fitted in super quick time and lives to tell the tale.
Post op, the British Heart Foundation got in touch to provide information and guidance. They were brilliant and I'm pleased to be able to support the organisation.
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
