Story

With great sadness, Janet Lawrence-Marwood-Elston, Mother to Susan and Michelle, Grandmother to Felicity and Lucy, and Sister to Gregory, passed away peacefully on Wednesday 8th January 2025. This followed a decline after living with advanced Dementia for several years.

Janet was a force of nature, strong willed, resolute, caring, and could always be relied upon for her mischievous and often hilarious sense of humour. She sadly had become isolated and disconnected from many of her friends and family in recent years, driven only by her dementia, not a true desire to disconnect. Our intent in establishing this page is to allow those that knew her to briefly reconnect and support, in her memory and in whatever way people feel able to do so, research into dementia causes and treatment.

Janet will be interred, in accordance with her wishes, at St Brannock’s Church, Braunton in North Devon on Friday 31st January 2025 at 2pm. If you would like to attend the service, you are welcome to do so, please confirm attendance to: michelle.marwood@gmail.com.

We would like to thank the staff at Clayfield Nursing Home in Barnstaple, who made her feel safe, cared for and special in her last few months
