Story
A dear friend was recently diagnosed with a brain tumour , the news was devastating to her family and friends . There’s little hope in these situations and without more awareness and research nothing much will change for those who get this terrible news. We wanted to do something to help so this annual event is a good opportunity to ask our family , friends , business colleagues and contracts to support us by trying to raise some money for this very worthy charity .
Wear A Hat Day is an annual event raising money to bring hope to brain tumour patients and their families. Every March, as Brain Tumour Awareness Month comes to a close, people from all walks of life put on their favourite hat at work, in school, with friends and family, and hold hat-themed events and make donations to Brain Tumour Research help find a cure for brain tumours, which kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer.
The first Wear A Hat Day was held in 2010 and, since then, it has raised more than £2 million for Brain Tumour Research to help raise awareness of this devastating disease, campaign for the Government and larger charities to invest more, and fund ground-breaking research at Centres of Excellence where scientists are focused on improving treatments for patients and, ultimately, finding a cure.
