Story

On 6th April 2025 I will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in aid of St George’s Hospital Charity. My gorgeous grandson Camden was born prematurely on 9th November 2016 in Queens Hospital, Essex and transferred to St George’s Hospital neo natal unit for life saving care and treatment. Throughout the many weeks he was in hospital fighting for his little life my beautiful daughter Sian, Camden’s mummy, did not leave his side, and the amazing staff at St George’s not only provided the best possible care for Camden, they supported Sian and enabled her to work with them every day and night until he was strong enough to leave hospital and go home. Camden is now 8 years old and a kind, happy, healthy and wonderful little boy who is enjoying everything life has to offer him, thanks to the incredible care he was given at St George’s Hospital. I am so very proud of Camden and Sian and hugely grateful to St George’s Hospital for all that they did. Last year Sian ran the marathon to raise money for St George’s charity and this year we will run it together to raise as much money as possible, because there are and will be so many other little babies who deserve to have the care our Camden received. All the money raised will make a real difference to the lives of thousands of patients and their families, as well as benefit the amazing team at St George's Hospital. Through funding new medical equipment, ward refurbishments, research, arts and musical therapies and so much more.
