Story
I am a BHSI based in the South West. I started riding at a young age and progressed to P2P and held my Category A Amateur jockey license, including riding at Cheltenham Foxhunters.
After retiring from racing I focused on eventing and progressing my coaching career. Through the support of BHS coaches I gained my BHSI and now want to help others to achieve their educational goals.
When the opportunity arose to be part of this inspiring fundraising race I couldn't wait to get back into training, and started to ride out for a local trainer before my application had even been accepted!
The British Horse Society promotes and protects everything dear to you and your horse. For over 70 years, the BHS has been a strong equestrian voice. We will continue supporting horses and riders, and you can too.
Road Safety: Too many horses and riders are being killed or injured on UK roads. Over the past year there have been over 1,000 incident reports on our roads involving horses; 180 have been injured and 46 killed - but we know only one in ten incidents are reported. We are dedicated to improving the safety of UK riders.
Horse Welfare: The BHS responds to over 6,000 welfare cases each year, but there are a thousand more in need of help. We work hard to promote the prevention of neglect, cruelty and harm
