The Rossendale Trust have been providing care and support for adults with learning disabilities for over 50 years. Today, they provide a Supported Living care service, which can be best described as a “don’t do it for me, do it with me” style of care. They also provide a day service, Oakwood, where adults with learning disabilities come to take part in a wide variety of activities, learn new skills and enjoy social interaction with friends. They also run a project called WorkTaste offering adults with learning disabilities an opportunity to experience the workplace, to learn and develop new skills and to build their confidence, whilst making a positive contribution to their local community.
