Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday the 8th of September, I will be running my third Great North Run and I cannot wait. It’s like a big reunion party, with some 60,000 runners and a very valuable event raising over £25 million each year for hundreds of charitable causes. I am running for Dementia UK, and in memory of my brother, Bruce, who died at the age of 60, from Alzheimer’s, some 3 years ago. In fact, 3 days after I did my first GNR.
Dementia UK raises money to fund Admiral nurses who are specialist dementia nurses. They help families manage complex needs, considering the person living with dementia and the people around them. You can read more about their work at https://www.dementiauk.org/
Despite all the fantastic work that Dementia UK does, and all those who donate so generously, we still have nowhere near enough Admiral nurses to help all those who need it. So please dig deep and sponsor me, whatever you can by using the just giving link above and, if you are anywhere in the north east, on the 8th of September, come and join the party !
