PLEASE SPONSOR US! OUR LEGS HAVE NEVER TAKEN US THIS FAR IN 48 HOURS! ITS GONNA HURT…….
Reuben’s Retreat is the most special of charities. Founded by Nicola and Mike Graham in 2014 in memory of their son Reuben who was taken way too soon at just 23 months old. This is a work of love and passion emerging from the saddest event - losing a child.
The Retreat has supported just shy of 2,000 individuals – From across the UK - and is currently “actively” working with 647 individuals. These are families that “may” face an uncertain future with their child’s medical complexities, or they are parents and siblings that have lost a child. It offers a myriad of bespoke and tailor-made support to work intrinsically with each individual and family. From an expert selection of types of counselling and therapies, peer support groups, 1-1 work, animal/art/music therapies, swims, sensory, welfare support, day trips, parties, seasonal events, short breaks and holidays. It is not a hospice and therefore offers no clinical care. It receives ZERO statutory funding and wholly raise monies via sponsorship.
The funds to purchase the “Retreat” back in 2014 and raised so far, have completed 6 phases of an ambitious, multi-million pound 10 phase project. Apartments for families so that they may holiday at theRetreat (and the vision will be fully realised then, as promised to Reuben) will be the penultimate phase. The team at the Retreat promise to invest/spend every penny wisely and with integrity to Reuben, his memory and the families that we are so very honoured to serve
