Jamie's London Landmarks & London Marathon 2025

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
I have again decided to run the TCS London Marathon in 2025 for Make A Wish UK who grant life changing wishes for the thousands of critically ill children across the UK. Sadly, the number of wish enquiries from seriously ill children with less than a year to live is rising fast. They need help to meet this urgent demand now - before it’s too late. For families with critically ill children, every day counts. Your support and contribution to this fantastic cause has the power to make a wish come true for a critically ill child, allowing families to create lasting memories that they will treasure forever – no matter what the future holds.
In April 2025 I will not only be stretching my legs around the iconic 26.2 mile London Marathon circuit, but I will also be taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon three weeks prior, on April 6th.
After a fantastic amount of support during my 2024 charitable endeavours, raising an incredible £6,540 through generous donations and support, and seeing first hand the difference a wish has to not only the child but their entire family and support network, I have decided to to it all again in 2025. However, this year with the addition of the London Landmarks Half Marathon three weeks prior to running the London Marathon and all in aid of Make A Wish UK so they can continue granting wishes.
Sometimes as individuals you have to take a step back to realise and appreciate how lucky you are, and what you have. In doing so, it made me realise back in 2023 how lucky and fortunate I and my family are in that we are fit, healthy and are able to have lots of amazing experiences and create our own lasting memories. However, there are many families not as fortunate and not able to for many different reasons and it became a little upsetting knowing that there are so many who could and so many who couldn't. Therefore, it is for that very reason I have decided to again run the TCS London Marathon 2025 with the addition of the London Landmarks Half Marathon three weeks prior with a view of being able to make a child's wish a reality and allow the family to create lasting memories that they will treasure forever - no matter what the future holds.
It is said on average it costs £2,500 to grant a single wish. I have therefore set my fundraising goal at £5,000 which will aim to make two children's wish's a reality. If we can surpass this figure and provide additional wish's that would be a fantastic achievement.
My family & I are also starting the fundraising off with a £1,000 contribution as we did last year also to show our own support to this great cause, along with the numerous blisters and miles run by myself leading up to Marathon day. Hopefully, this year there is nothing more serious than a blister or two too!
Your support and contributions as always are greatly appreciated :)
