Firefighters Lairig Ghru Challenge · 26 August 2023

The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

Myself, CC Stewart, and some of my colleagues, FF Boon, FF Monaghan, FF Amos and FF McRobert from Aviemore Fire Station, are undertaking the challenge of walking from the Linn of Dee Car Park (Braemar), through the Lairig Ghru Pass and finishing at the Aviemore Fire Station on the 26th August. This is approximately 27 miles and no matter what the weather conditions we will be completing it in full firefighting kit, (tunic, leggings, helmet, boots and gloves)

Each Firefighters PPE weighing 9kg.
