LOROS is a charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for adult patients with cancer, progressive neurological conditions, and end-stage organ failure when curative treatment is no longer an option. Care is provided at the Hospice and within the community, focusing on clinical need and offered to all, regardless of background or ability to pay.

I am 21 years old and only started running earlier this year (2024), I have already achieved half marathon distance in preparation for the full marathon. Although I realise there is a huge difference in training between the two!

My Mum works as a counsellor at LOROS and I am aware of the amazing work they do there.

My grandad has done a lot of fundraising for LOROS in the past by running Marathons including the London. Unfortunately, he suffered from cancer 20 years ago and his health has never been the same since and he is no longer able to run competitively. I’ve grown up with lots of stories about his fundraising days.

It is really important to me to follow in my grandad’s footsteps by running the London Marathon for LOROS, I would also like to beat his time and I know he would be really proud of me if I do.

My dad’s cousin and more recently his friend have sadly died at LOROS. Again, the excellent care for them and their families in a time of need was fantastic.
