Story
Medical research drives humanity on to better grounds constantly, with the world of research having developed remarkably in the last 100 years. Despite how fortunate we all are, there is still much to be discovered so that new life-changing improvements can be made across the globe, particularly in low-and-middle-income countries. This inherent desire to better the world is shared by millions of researchers, who can be helped by any small amount of money to make such discoveries. The Medical Research Foundation (MRF) supports researchers in underfunded areas, ranging from mental health, to lung disease, to climate change.
As a PhD student myself, I find the lack of funding being the barrier to bettering lives such a shame. By setting out to run 100km in one go (uh oh) I hope to raise any amount of money I can for the MRF. I am not saying this will single-handedly save the world, but I do believe that every little ripple we make can eventually turn into great waves. Whatever you give, it will warm my heart knowing that we are collectively contributing to making the world a better place, one little bit at a time.
Love you all,
