Story

I'm excited to be running the 2025 TCS London Marathon to help Save the Children create lasting change for children.

I took the decision to raise money for Save the Children in memory of my friend Robie who we lost in 2012. He was a charismatic, compassionate and influential presence in any room he was in, and the role he played had and continues to have an impact on the many lives he touched.

At the time his family asked that any donations in his memory be made to Save the Children, which I’d previously not known a great deal about. Since then, and having learned more about the work they’re doing, it has been an ambition of mine to raise money for Save the Children, to help them in achieving their important mission.

In 2025, in my 40th year, the time felt right to combine this with another ambition; to follow in my dad’s footsteps and run the London Marathon.

Any contribution you can make, however big or small, can make a really meaningful difference to the lives of children. Please read on for a little more information about how your generosity might be put to use.

The children featured in this photo are attending a 'Catch Up Club' at a refugee camp in Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, Uganda.

Catch up Clubs were initially introduced in response to Uganda’s children experiencing the longest school closures in the world as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thanks to you supporting my fundraising challenge, Save the Children can help support children to stay safe, healthy and keep learning, whilst also tackling the root causes of inequality like unjust laws or practices.

Together, we can create real change that lasts a lifetime and a world where every child has a chance of the future they deserve.

Thank you!
