“Master Cutler's Challenge”
For this year's Master Cutler's Challenge, Sheffield Hospitals Charity are fundraising to help make a difference to the lives of those living with dementia and those who care for them.

Story

The 2025 Master is Phil Rodrigo and he has chosen Sheffield Hospitals Charity as the beneficiary of the challenge, specifically to fund Dementia work.

People living with Dementia don’t always get the person-centred care that they need to live well. Too many people with Dementia are admitted to hospital for things that could be treated in the community. Carers feel unsupported and overwhelmed. Nationally 1 in 6 hospital patients have Dementia. In Sheffield that figure is 1 in 4.

Sheffield Hospitals Charity is committed to supporting our NHS colleagues to provide the best possible care, at the right time, for people living with Dementia and their loved ones.

We are fundraising to support three key initiatives:

1.Helping people stay independent and live well with Dementia out of hospital

2.Giving people the best experience in hospital

3.Supporting carers with the challenges they face

About the charity

We help Sheffield’s hospitals, community teams and health and social care services to cover costs their NHS budgets can’t. We fund support for patients and staff, life-changing research and more, so that we can enhance care from birth to the end of life and everything in between.
