Story

Sadly the amazing and wonderful Donna passed away on Sunday the 8th September 2024. Donna gallantly fought her battle against cancer and made everyone proud by raising awareness and going on a 1 woman mission to raise money for 2 fantastic charities. She passed away in the care of the angels at St Luke’s Hospice, surrounded by family and friends, and will be missed by everyone that has ever had the pleasure of knowing such a lovely lady.

This was Donna’s story…

I’m Donna, I’m a 45 year old woman, mother of 2 (and a fur baby), a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a niece, cousin, a godmother, a fierce and loving friend, confidante and colleague, a leader and a career woman…….. I’m also now a woman living with cancer.

I found out initially in November 2023 I likely had cancer after having an emergency endoscopy following a period of being sick; like a bug, the doctors thought I had an infection. I didn’t - it was confirmed stomach cancer in December after many biopsies and tests. A huge mass living in my stomach. This diagnosis has cut through and impacted everyone and everything that I love and has been a huge shock to us all.

Many of the early signs and symptoms are missed because they could relate to other common illnesses (for me ibs and a stressful lifestyle was the thing that hid the cancer really).

Through this charity we will raise funds to assist in raising awareness related to stomach cancer and support others through their cancer journey.

Thank you for donating 🩷

Fabulous fundraising so far from ‘Dee’s Tummy Cancer UK’ ❤️🫶
