Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On my dad’s JustGiving page you can read the story of how his ‘84 at 84’ challenge came about and his reason for choosing Dementia UK. The cause is chiming with Richard's friends and he is winning lots of support. Now Motofest is over I'm hoping to do the same as well as hiking the 84 miles with him. Together we are aiming to make a real difference.
Over and over again Dementia UK's Admiral nurses step in to help a family come to terms with the onset of dementia. Latest figures show that more than half of UK adults know someone living with dementia. The initial diagnosis makes a profound impact on families. This is where an Admiral nurse can start to turn desperation into loving and caring acceptance.
It would be wonderful if some of the people and enterprises I work with on Coventry Motofest are able to join our team with funding support towards this ambitious target, either personally or through their business. Every little helps!

What funding can do:
The examples below give an idea of how potential donation amounts might help. Please join me with your own organisation's support for this amazing work and help achieve this target. Thank you so much.
£550 could fund a new specialist dementia nurse to run two full days of face-to-face appointments for families affected by young onset dementia (a diagnosis under the age of 65).
£1,125 could fund a new specialist dementia nurse for a whole week to support a community where people are struggling to access local dementia services.
Charitable gifts through JustGiving can be counted against tax as it is a charity itself.
