Story
I’m running the London Marathon 2025 to raise money for people suffering with asthma and lung conditions!
The people I’m running for include my late Nan, Mary. She suffered with emphysema. It’s a lung disease that debilitated my Nan and her health. I watched her slowly have to sacrifice little things in her life, things as simple as walking to the park or the shops. It wasn’t long before she couldn’t walk up her own stairs. She was diagnosed with her condition sometime before the Covid pandemic which was an incredibly difficult and isolating time for her. Sadly, at the end of 2021 she lost her long battle with the disease and passed away.
As a mild asthma suffer myself, it has never really negatively impacted my life and I have never had to sacrifice any day to day activities. Nor have I had any severe asthma attacks which have led to trips to the hospital. So I consider myself very lucky.
That can’t be said for two brave little people I know. Harper, is 3 years old and regularly suffers with asthma attacks which mean scary and unwanted hospital trips that her and her parents have to endure.
Arlo, is 4 years old and was diagnosed with asthma at the young age of 2, he has already experienced many hospital visits with overnight stays.
So I’d appreciate if you can give what you can to help Arlo’s and Harper’s journey be as easy as possible so they don’t have to sacrifice anything despite their struggles with asthma!
