Story
South Central Ambulance Charity fund over 1,200 Community First Responders, medical students, military, police and fire Co-Responders across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire & Hampshire
From our training, clothing, equipment to expenses, we are supported by the charity to help our communities, assisting the ambulance service responding to 999 calls, or in the case of volunteer car drivers, taking patients to and from hospital appointments
Ive been a Community First Responder for just shy of 2 years (2 year anniversary midway through the challenge) and it’s taught me life skills, as well as a lot about myself. I want to support my fellow volunteers so they can help you, a friend, family member, colleague or stranger in their time of need
I've two challenges
Walking 5 miles a day for every day of January, carrying the equivalent weight of a responder bag - 13 to 14kg
4x4x48 on 20th - 21st January
I'll be running 4 miles, every 4 hours for 48 hours with 13-14kg on back
Along side this, I'll be doing CPR compressions for 20 minutes straight, following each movement round. This element will be broadcast on instagram if you want to join along and get some practice in
