Story
Thank you very much for taking the time to visit my page!
In April I'll be running the London Landmarks half marathon for the London Ambulance Service Charity. I've worked for the LAS for nearly 2.5 years at this point and it's fair to say the organisation has made quite the impression in that time. I am immensely proud to work for the LAS and contribute to the amazing work our organisation carries out every day.
As we all know, the NHS is widely underfunded and under resourced and the LAS is no exception to that. As a result, staff welfare and wellbeing initiatives are often areas that are underfunded. Your donations will make a difference and will help our amazing clinicians to get the support they deserve and consequently improve patient care across London.
Some of the things your donations might be used for:
- Supporting staff and volunteer’s physical and mental wellbeing.
- Promoting innovation, transformation and efficient new ways of working.
- Helping staff deliver front line patient care more effectively.
- Projects that enhance patient care.
- Wellbeing Support Vehicles, outdoor gardens and rest areas at ambulance stations and a staff hardship fund.
I also have my own personal reasons for running the LLHM in April. In 2023 I started running as I was aware I needed to make some positive changes in my life especially when it came to lifestyle, diet and exercise. I still struggled with consistency throughout the year and knew I needed a goal to work towards to keep me motivated, hence why I entered the LLHM.
This will be a massive challenge for me. I have never ran a half marathon before (I've never ran further than 10km before) so I'm aware, just what I've got myself in for and how much of a challenge this is going to be. Your support will make the difference to keep me motivated and make sure I'm out there training in the cold, winter months.
