We provide UK-wide support and information to improve life after brain injury

Story

Hello,

We are 5 friends - James, Leon, Charlie, Oscar and Joel who are raising money for Headway.

Headway means a lot for us as they continue to help our friend, who unfortunately suffered a brain injury back in 2022 after an accident. Since then, his life has drastically altered, having to drop out of university due to the lasting effects.

The amazing work of Headway have significantly helped him develop his confidence to build a new life with this injury. Headway understand the impact of brain injuries, the way they can change your behaviour, relationships, and can leave people feeling a burden on their loved ones.

Thanks to Headway, he has has excellent support dealing with this, he has now got a new opportunity in life, now volunteering with to build his confidence back and slowly step him back into a life of independence.

After doing the Sheffield 10k in September for fun, we saw all the amazing fundraisers around us for some great causes. We were hooked! We decided to fully challenge ourselves as we have never done a formal half marathon before, and what better cause?

We are pushing ourselves to be ready for the big run on the 23rd March, we truly believe all of this sacrifice will be well and truly worth it for such a great charity.
