Story

In January 2025 I will be climbing Mt Kilimanjaro - the highest single free-standing mountain above sea level in the world! At 5,895m above sea level I will be attempting the challenge along with my friend Ian over 8 days, following the Lemosho route and acending to the peak on 23 Jan 2025.

After thinking long and hard about raising money while doing this trip I finally settled on supporting the Grand Appeal, as both of my children have found themselves in the Bristol Children's Hospital in the past! Back in 2011 my son spent a week there and nearly died. Fortunately when my daughter started showing similar conditions in 2014 they were able to resolve her illness quickly and she was released on the same day. The care and support provided by the hospital and staff was second to none and I am in no doubt that without them the situation could have been far worse. I want to help ensure they have the resources to continue to provide such a great service in the future and to help many more children.
