I am running the Manchester Marathon in two weeks time and I would like to dedicate this run to the North West Heart Centre based at Wythenshawe Hospital.
On the 9th January 2024 my Dad unfortunately sustained a massive heart attack which led to an emergency quadruple bypass and a two week hospital admission. He is currently on week 12 of his recovery and is on track for making a full recovery.
Due to this specialist team and their life saving surgeries my Dad is still with us and our family will be forever in debt to them. Myself and my family cannot thank them enough for everything they have done from surgery to aftercare and this fundraising page is small way of saying thank you.
The team look after over 3.2 million people for their heart health and have played a massive part in saving my Dads life. Therefore any donations to help sustain such a specialist team would be very much appreciated.
Running a marathon has always been on my bucket list and this is now a perfect opportunity to channel my focus and determination into something which means so much to me.
I would also like to say a massive thank you to NWAS for their promptness in taking him to hospital as their urgency played a massive part in assisting his prognosis.
Also thank you to my family and close friends who have been very supportive over the last 12 weeks in constantly being caring and courteous for what has been a very difficult time.
Massive thank you to my good mates Luke Richardson and Connor Blazy for helping me train for this event 👍🏻
*** I will be running under the name of Philip Edwards as I had missed the deadline for transfer of registration***
Lets go 💪🏻
