The “BigBike” is an annual charity event run by BigHand which brings a good group of cyclists together, completing a challenging route to raise money for meaningful causes.

This year we are raising money for Project HOPE – this is a charity which provides support and mental health resiliency training to healthcare workers across the world. Health workers are among the most vulnerable to the mental health effects of CV19 pandemic with high & growing rates of anxiety, depression and insomnia. We need our front line health staff to be in great mental condition as they help others.

Mental Health improvement is something I’m passionate about and I am the exec sponsor for the BigHand Mental Health ERG (Employee Resource Group). We know cycling and exercise is good for mental health and those that know me, know this wont be my biggest challenge, but it certainly will for many of the team members on this 400km, 3 day challenge, so I’ll be encouraging and corralling the group to keep pedalling whilst reflecting on the amazing iniaitives Project HOPE are implementing in seriously tough conditions all the time.
