Event: Inca Trail to Machu Picchu with Discover Adventure 2023, from 14 October 2023 to 23 October 2023
A group of trekkers are planning to travel to Peru to trek the lost city of Machu Pichu to raises funds for people in Lancashire and Sefton living with sight loss.

Story

I am taking on Machu Picchu, one of the most iconic sights in South America, and the culmination of the magnificent Inca Trail trek through the Peruvian Andes.

Trekking on Inca-paved paths and steps, our route takes us up to the demanding Dead Womans Pass (4200m). Continually climbing up or dropping down, our way is steep at times, and the altitude adds to the challenge. We finally come to the Sun Gate, which overlooks Machu Picchu.

I am doing this in support of Galloway's, supporting local people with sight loss.

I lost my Sight in 2002 and Galloways where there to help me rebuild my life and live again with limited vision
