Running the London Marathon 2025

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
I’m running the London Marathon, on behalf of a charity close to the hearts of my wife and I, The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust (EPT).
Around 1 in 80 pregnancies in the UK are ectopic - which is when a fertilised egg starts to grow outside the womb. This can be a life threatening condition, sometimes requiring surgery and sadly, it’s not possible to save the pregnancy if it’s ectopic.
Ectopic pregnancies can involve making very serious and difficult decisions in distressing and often time pressured circumstances. It can have a lasting physical and emotional impact on those affected - coming to terms with the loss of a baby, concerns about future fertility and pregnancy, and for some, the fact they almost lost their life too.
My wife and I know only too well the importance of having and continuing to have the right support in those circumstances and the EPT does great work in this area. Through various methods it can provide much needed information and support to those affected by ectopic pregnancy. It also aims to increase awareness of the condition and its emotional toll to the public and healthcare professionals. And it uses its knowledge to help inform vital research on this matter. The EPT strives to ensure everyone has access to information about the signs and symptoms of ectopic pregnancy. Early detection can be crucial in saving lives and preventing severe complications of this condition. The funds I raise will go towards helping the EPT continue its valuable work. You can find more information about the EPT here: https://ectopic.org.uk/
Thank you so much for your generous support. It’s for a worthy and very personal cause, so every donation really does mean a lot and will help to spur me on through the tough training ahead (and on the day)!
