Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

With a great group of friends, we have set the challenge of cycling from Ipswich to Melrose Rugby Club in the Scottish Borders in mid-September. The journey is 400+ miles which we will individually complete, as a team of 40 strong, over 4 days.

We have all seen how devastating Motor Neurone Disease is through watching the battle Doddie Weirs and Rob Burrows both faced, but for me, the reason I'm doing the challenge is also personal. As many of you will know, Mum was diagnosed with MND nearly 6 years ago and is still bravely fighting it, as well as recently losing one of my closest uni mates, Jake V.P at 44 years old.

This first-hand experience of such a cruel disease has spurred me on to undertake this gruelling journey, and raise as much as possible for an incredibly worthwhile cause in the process.

I have just about mastered the clip-in shoes, and training is underway in earnest, although it is proving how unfit I am. Being 100+ kgs even the slightest incline feels like a stage of the Tour de France to me…!

So it would be amazing if you could dig deep and sponsor me on this epic challenge.
