Story
In April 2024 I will take part in the Marathon des Sables (MDS). The MDS is a legendary race in the heart of the Moroccan Sahara, covering 250km in 6 days. The challenge sounds like an epic adventure which will push me to my limits, so if i'm healthy and fit enough, I think I should go for it!
I have decided to use this as an opportunity to raise money for the Cure Parkinson’s charity.
Parkinson's disease affects the brain and causes movement problems, such as tremor, stiffness, and difficulty with balance and coordination. Symptoms are mild initially but usually worsen over time to introduce other issues such as affecting a person’s speech and introducing eating and sleeping disorders.
There is currently no cure for Parkinson's Disease!
Cure Parkinson’s is leading the charge to find new treatments to slow, stop, and reverse Parkinson’s. As someone who sees the impact of Parkinson’s on loved ones first hand, I am so grateful for organisations like Cure Parkinson’s that work to find a cure. But they can’t do it alone. That’s why I’m looking for your support to help me reach my fundraising goal of £3,500. Every donation counts and brings us one step closer to a cure.
