Thank you for taking a look at my fundraising page.

It is my absolute pleasure to share that, on Sunday 27 April 2025, I have been given the terrifically exciting, yet slightly scary, opportunity to run the TCS London Marathon. This means that I will be running/walking/crawling 26.2 miles to raise much needed funds for the superb cause Farm Africa.

Today, over half of the world’s extreme poor live in sub-Saharan Africa. The vast majority work in agriculture.

Farm Africa reduces poverty in eastern Africa by helping farmers grow more, sell more and sell for more. Working in Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, Farm Africa is growing agriculture, protecting the environment and developing businesses in rural areas.

You may think that this is very distant from our lives in the UK and Europe but many of these farmers are growing food that we buy right here in the UK!

Here's how your donation could help:

£5 (about the cost of the pint of beer in the UK) could help to buy 10kg of forage seeds, so that farmers can grow food for their livestock.

£11 (The cost of a cinema ticket in the UK) could provide training to one woman in high-quality coffee production in Uganda.

£32 (an average monthly phone contract payment) could help to pay for a farmer to hire help to bring in his harvest.

£76 (a tank of fuel in a car in the UK) could help to provide two farmers with the means to start a beekeeping business.

Yes I run a little bit now and again but a marathon is very much out of my comfort zone and I'm sure you will agree, not something I agree to do lightly. I am hugely appreciative of any support you're able to give whether that be moral, financial or a combination of the two.
