Story
On the 14th of April this year I will be running the Manchester marathon in aid of Home-Start Wandsworth. This will be, without a doubt, the most physically challenging thing I have ever attempted. By raising money for Home-Start it will not only be helping an amazing cause, but it will also give me the extra motivation I need through the weeks of hard training ahead.
I was made aware of Home-Start (https://www.homestartwandsworth.org.uk/) through my mum, who has been a volunteer for the charity for many years now. I have heard through my mums experiences, about the positive impacts that Home-Start has on underprivileged families. Home-Start and their volunteers work alongside vulnerable families, offering support and company to help them through the extremely tough times they face. The work that Home-Start do is more important than ever as deprived families are struggling to get through post-Covid life, as well as a cost of living and housing crisis. The home-visiting volunteers that Home-Start provide help parents gain the confidence and skills they need to be able to give their children the best possible start to life.
I will be so grateful for any donations I receive, as will all of the volunteers at Home-Start and the families that they help. As I said this is by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done so any donations would massively help me get across the finish line.
