Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am running the Great North run on Sunday 10th September 2023.

I am raising money for Diabetes UK in memory of my brother Sam Modena. Sam died in February 2023 from something called Ketoacidosis. Sam had undiagnosed Diabetes and Ketoacidosis what happens when the body cannot breakdown sugars at all and instead breakdown fats. I think it is important to raise awareness about Diabetes and the symptoms, as many people may suffer from this without realising as the symptoms can also be indications of other health issues.

I have found running to be a very therapeutic activity for me and have got into it more seriously in the last couple of years. It gives me space to think, process my thoughts, and get fit all at the same time. To be able to use this activity to raise some money for charity, and to remember my brother is quite a privelege, and I hope that you can donate as you are able to do so.
