Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am running the Great North run on Sunday 10th September 2023.

I am raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of my father Dario Modena. Dario died in February 2023 from Acute Myleoid Leukemia (AML). Despite having regular blood tests, the AML developed quickly for Dad, and after catching a cold in late January Dad was taken to hospital on February 1st 2023. Unfortunately, Dad never revcovered and died on the 4th February. Macmillan cancer support were a source of great comfort during dad's short stay in hospital and helped us to understand everything that was going on, despite the stress and worry of the situation. They do fantastic work supporting families who are affected by cancer.

I have found running to be a very therapeutic activity for me and have got into it more seriously in the last couple of years. It gives me space to think, process my thoughts, and get fit all at the same time. To be able to use this activity to raise some money for charity, and to remember my father is quite a privelege, and I hope that you can donate as you are able to do so. Any donation is appreciated, and thank you for taking the time and effort to do so.
