Story
Our son Ezra suffers with a condition called acute atopical infantile eczema. This first started when he was 4 months old. It's been a journey that has not only affected Ezra and his quality of life but has also had a massive affect on our whole family. It's been a whirlwind of treatments, a heartbreaking hospital admission, lots of tears and sleepless nights. Our boy is an absolute warrior and we are so proud of him and how he has handled his condition at such a young age.
We felt fobbed off by health care professionals and turned to EOS for help, advice and guidance. They were incredible! They sent out a welcome pack to Ezra that had a wonderful book about a itchy dinosaur to help him feel he is not alone, a fidget toy to help distract him when he would get the urge to itch and special clothing to help prevent his skin from bleeding when itching, along with a lot of helpful information for myself. I also got to have a wonderful lengthy chat with a support worker who helped me to feel heard and supported us with advice when we finally got a referral to dermatology after nearly 2 years of waiting.
Evelyn thought the pack for her little brother was amazing and wanted to help raise money for the charity to help other children who suffer with the "horrible rashies" as she calls it, to get a welcome pack too.
So Evelyn and I have decided to take part in Move 5 this October, walking 1km every day for 5 days, for the Eczema Outreach Support which is a wonderful charity that relies on donations to be able to continue the work they do.
They help over 4000 families across the UK with tailored support, events and school workshops as well as advocating for better assistance for people suffering with eczema.
EOS want to make sure every child and young person with eczema can thrive!
Your donation to my Move 5 challenge will really help, please give today!
