Story
Hi all,
I am going to be taking part in the Sikh Helpline (SHL) bike ride from Edinburgh to Birmingham for the third year in a row. This epic bike ride covers 350 miles over four days and is definitely not a walk in the park!
My two reasons for participating are firstly the charity helps anyone and everyone and therefore fully embraces the Sikh concept of "Sarbat Da Bhalla" which essentially means "may everyone be blessed". In fact the charity won the Queen's award for voluntary service in 2022.
Secondly, the event occurs very close to the date when my mother passed away. I first participated in this ride in 2022 and it was the last ride my mother saw me complete before passing away on 6th August 2022. Therefore, I will always have a sentimental connection to this particular event.
Below, I have given some brief details about the great work this charity does (please visit https://www.sikhhelpline.com/ for more details).
Finally, thank you in advance for your sponsorship and more importantly moral support which helps me complete these epic challenges.
