My London Marathon for Cornwall Hospice Care

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
As some of you may know I lost my beloved Dad, Tim, back in May 2018. He spent his last few days at the wonderful Mount Edgcumbe Hospice where he was cared for by the most amazing team who gave him peace and comfort alongside ourselves as the family during an incredibly difficult time. My Stepfather, Bob, has also spent time at Mount Edgcumbe Hospice in the past few months where he also received truly wonderful care whilst battling a terminal prognosis. Since then I have vowed that I would give something back and try to raise some vital funds for the amazing care Cornwall Hospice Care provide. After having my 2 children, and the pandemic in between, it is now the fitting time to take on a challenge and oh my, what a challenge this will be for me.
Let's just say I am not a natural runner and the longest distance I've ever run is a 5k, and that was a very long time ago! However, running the London Marathon is iconic and absolutely on the bucket list so I am thrilled to be taking this challenge on and doing my part to give something back to a charity so close to my heart.
Your donation will absolutely count! By sponsoring me you will make a huge difference to someone in Cornwall facing a terminal illness right now. Your donation will help fund the hospice nurses enabling them to provide the peace, comfort and calm that my Dad, Stepfather, and family recieved and let me tell you, that is priceless.
The dedicated team of nurses in the two hospices in Cornwall work around the clock to give end of life care to people in our community living with a terminal illness. The hospices are such special places and without our support this wouldn't be possible. Your donation will make an impact and your support for me in taking on this challenge means the world.
