Story
Hi Everyone,
So this year I am turning 24 and in celebration of this I have decided to tick something off my bucket list and what better way to do it, than to do it for charity. As many of you are aware my best friend Rhi (Rhiannon) sadly passed away in 2017 after a long battle with hodgkin's lymphoma. Rhi was only 14 years old when she was diagnosed and her cancer came back year after year until 2017 when she passed away two days after turning 19. Teenage cancer trust is one of the main charities that supported her and her family over this long and extremely difficult period of time in her teenage years. This is a charity which continues to be close to my heart in which I have previously raised money for and am once again asking for any donations big or small to help this amazing charity.
Teenage Cancer Trust provides care and support specifically for young people who have been diagnosed with cancer. They fund specialised nurses, youth workers and hospital units within the NHS so that young people have dedicated staff and facilities to support them throughout treatment. They also put on events for young people with cancer to help them regain independence, confidence and meet other young people in similar situations. In addition to, providing easy-to-understand information about all aspects of living with cancer as a young person. Everyday seven people between the ages of 13-24 will be told they have cancer. There are currently 28 specialist cancer units built-in hospitals across the UK and 92 funded Teenage Cancer Trust Nurses and Youth Support Coordinators. Compared with the amount of young people being diagnosed everyday, there are simply not enough funds for more units, trust nurses and youth support coordinators. Your donations can make a big difference to this!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and making a donation.
